Recently a hotel worker by the name of Ramiro Cardenas posted a leak, showcasing images and a video of the upcoming Meta Quest Pro (Project Cambria). The leaked headset is known to be an engineering sample and not a retail product however it does confirm a couple features.

According to Uploadvr.com the leaked unboxing confirms the use of 5 external cameras and the controllers do not have the clunky rings around them that the Quest 2 uses. Additionally, it features built in eye tracking, face tracking, colour passthroughs and depth sensors. Undoubtedly, more features will be revealed once the headset is formally announced at Meta’s AR/VR conference “Connect” on October 11th. However, being able to see what the headset will look like well over a month in advance is extremely exciting.

You can find the leaked images here and the leaked video here.

The current information known about the Quest Pro is the resolution will be increased to 2160 x 2160 per eye as opposed to the Quest 2’s 1832 x 1920 per eye. Additionally, the RAM is being doubled from 6GB to 12 GB.

Mark Zuckerberg was also quoted on The Joe Rogan Experience that Meta is developing AR glasses and expects some form of product in the next “3-5 years”. He was also quoted saying that he expects it to be quite expensive initially and ideally it will be reduced to “hundreds of dollars”.

Given that this upcoming headset is set to be significantly more expensive than the Quest 2 the hype around it will only build up until it is released and hopefully it can live up to it.
